PNG to JPG Converter
Shrink big PNG files into compact JPGs that are easy to email, upload and share. Convert a whole folder at once — everything stays on your device.
Why convert PNG to JPG?
PNG stores every pixel without loss, which is perfect for screenshots and graphics but wasteful for photos: a photo saved as PNG is often 3–5 times larger than the same photo as a JPG. Converting to JPG makes it small enough for email attachments and upload forms with size limits, with no difference you can see at the default quality of 90%.
JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white, rather than turning black as they do with some converters. To keep a transparent background and still get a much smaller file, convert PNG to WebP instead.
Screenshots and images with small text can pick up faint smudges around the letters as JPG. If you notice that, raise the quality slider to 95%, or keep those particular images as PNG.

Which format should I choose?
- JPG
- Opens on every phone, computer, and website. Pick this if you are not sure.
- PNG
- Lossless, so no quality is lost. File sizes are 3–5× larger than JPG.
- WebP
- Around 30% smaller than JPG at the same quality. Supported by all modern browsers.
- AVIF
- The smallest files, often half the size of JPG. Newer, so a few older apps cannot open it.
Frequently asked questions
What is a PNG file?
PNG (Portable Network Graphics) is a lossless image format that supports transparency. It is ideal for screenshots, logos and graphics, but it stores photos as very large files.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs inside your web browser using WebAssembly. Your photos never leave your device, and we never see them.
Is there a limit on how many photos I can convert?
No. Add as many as you like. Very large batches are processed a few at a time so your device does not run out of memory.
Does converting reduce quality?
At the default settings the difference is invisible. Choose PNG for a lossless copy, or raise the quality slider for JPG, WebP and AVIF.
What happens to photo metadata like location?
Converted images do not include the original metadata (EXIF), so GPS location, camera details and timestamps are removed. That makes them safer to share publicly.
Why is AVIF slower?
AVIF squeezes images much smaller, which takes more computation. Expect a few seconds per photo.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, Linux and ChromeOS.
